Job Title: Minor Add Compounding Operator
Department: Rubber
Reports To: Rubber Supervisor

Work Schedule: 1st Shift - 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM from Monday - Friday, but will work Saturdays continuously for the majority of the year

Summary

Responsible for weighing solid-phase chemicals for rubber mixing within a specified tolerance by performing 
the following duties:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


 Will prepare “units”, which are materials weighed in to a low-melt bag
 Will be required to load schedules, recipes from a computer screen
 Will be required to properly identify labeled materials for weigh up of units 
 Rotates between Minor Add Compounding, Color Compounding, Banbury Mixing, and Drop Mill Operating
 Overtime is/may be required.
 Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience 
High School diploma required. 

 

General Tasks required of all associates

 Operator must understand and follow 5S and good housekeeping in their respective areas
 Must adhere to all safety policies within Mannington, The Rubber Plant and specific to job being preformed
 Operators will Clean their equipment throughout the shift and at shutdowns

 

Language Skills 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small 
group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and 
decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited 
standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
