Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to diagnose equipment failures quickly, and the capability to work independently during late evening hours.

The Maintenance Mechanic supports production by minimizing downtime, performing corrective repairs, and assisting with preventative maintenance activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production machinery.
  • Repair or replace defective components including motors, sensors, drives, belts, bearings, and control devices.
  • Respond promptly to production calls to minimize downtime.
  • Perform emergency repairs during shift as needed.

2. Preventative Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for wear, misalignment, and mechanical deficiencies.
  • Lubricate, adjust, and calibrate equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Document maintenance work performed and report recurring issues.

3. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing equipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards.

4. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades and installations.
  • Communicate recurring equipment issues to management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of motors, drives, sensors, and control systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be available to work 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM evening support shift.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise and heat.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to equipment issues.
